Medical Microdermabrasion
Our Medical Microdermabrasion skin care equipment utilises salt crystals passing over your skin to remove old skin. This is one of the most natural ways to regain the youthful appearance of skin without chemicals or surgery, or extended periods of irritation and redness. Medical Microdermabrasion skin care treatments are ideal for anyone who wants to improve skin appearance and create a foundation for building new skin that responds to complimentary treatments such as IPL or laser.
At Discover Laser, we use Salt A-Peel™ Microdermabrasion. A hand piece gently blows crystals onto the surface of the skin and resurfaces the superficial layers of the skin. As the crystals contact the skin, they remove old, dead, and flaking skin cells and exfoliate and polish the skin beneath.
Skin affected by acne, scarring & moderate wrinkles due to sun damage and other pigmentation problems, can benefit from Medical Microdermabrasion.
Optimum results can be achieved by a combination of Medical Microdermabrasion and laser treatments. We provide treatments that provide wrinkle reduction, skin exfoliation, and pigment correction. The Salt A-Peel™ is a two stage process:
Firstly - The Salt A-Peel™ system gently removes the stratum corneum, the outer most layer of skin which is essentially comprised of dead skin. Studies have concluded that the stratum corneum is effectively removed in less than 3 passes. It is essential that the stratum corneum is removed as this contains the very top of any scarring, wrinkles, stretch marks, etc.
Secondly - Ultrasound is used to massage Vitamins A&C into the skin. The ultrasound creates air bubbles beneath the skins surface making it more porous so that rich Anti-oxidants can be massaged into the skin. The ultrasound frequency has been optimised to deliver the Vitamins intradermally so they reach and target the fibroblast cells stimulating them to ultimately create more Elastin and Collagen. This results in the production of new, healthier, more nourished skin. This process is termed DermaPhoresis™.
The Salt A-Peel™ Microdermabrasion is a painless, effective, truly “lunchtime treatment” with no downtime or post treatment redness or swelling.
This is due to the use of positive pressure instead of traditional vacuum systems and salt instead of more controversial abrasives.
