Synchrovit®C is a serum which contains three powerful anti-oxidant ingredients-Superoxide Dismutase (SOD), Vitamin C (l-ascorbic acid) and Zinc.
The superoxide free radical is the number one free radical created in the skin from UV exposure. This free radical cannot be neutralised by anti-oxidants, so it remains free to cause damage. Gradually Superoxide naturally converts to the weaker hydroxyl free radical and then can be neutralised by anti-oxidants.
Superoxide Dismutase is the naturally occurring enzyme which forces superoxide to convert immediately to the hydroxyl free radical. This allows the Vitamin C to neutralise it, meaning less damage to the skin. Zinc boosts the activity of SOD and Vitamin C.
