Micellar Water is a fast rising star in the beauty and cosmetic world. Makeup artists at photo-shoots and those working backstage at fashion shows rave about Micellar Water’s ability to get rid of makeup without the use of water.
It gets its name from the science behind the product. It’s made of “micelles”, which are tiny oil molecules suspended in water.
Rather than being made of a foaming solution, that contains soaps and harsh chemicals that grind away dirt and makeup, Micellar Water’s small oil molecules grab onto unwanted particles clinging to your face and dissolve them.
Miscellar Water never feels oily and is gentle enough to use all over your face, especially your eyes. It promises to be a miracle for sensitive skin types too.
It’s not a household name in the UK yet, but famous brands are slowly adding Micellar Water Cleansers to their cosmetic ranges. Lancôme, Darphin, Yves St Laurent, La Roche Posay all have Micellar Water products but they can be a bit pricey.
I have found a good, reasonably priced and highly effective one – Try Instant Demake S for sensitive types or Instant Demake P for oily types – by French pharmacy Phasilab £17.50 for 250ml.
I like it so much we now have it available to buy in our clinic. It’s fantastic for travelling and I find this one effective at removing waterproof mascara but not all brands do, so choose carefully.
