Now we’re heading into the warmer weather (hopefully) now is a good time to think about changing your foundation.
Liquid foundations may give you great coverage, but personally I’m not a fan. Your skin can’t breathe, and as you perspire it may block your pores and give you problematic skin – as well as causing streaks. Here are my two favourite alternatives:
Mineral make up
If you haven’t already tried it you’ll probably be surprised at just how good it looks and feels. Barbara Panagos is a quality brand that provides great coverage, without feeling cakey or looking powdery, and comes with a host of other benefits:
- Additional SPF – the mineral base reflects UV rays and can enhance your protection when layered over the sunscreen you should already be using
- Kind to your skin – free from talcs, parabens and fillers, and containing only natural ingredients, it’s great for even problematic skin
- Feed your skin – it contains pharmaceutical-grade vitamins A, C and E, and lavender which is anti-bacterial
- Let your skin breathe – comfortable and weightless on the skin, you can perspire through it too, for all round comfort
- Spot the difference – Non-comedogenic, it won’t block pores and is oil free, so it’s great for acne and spot prone skin
- No streaking – it is very water resistant so it stays put come rain or shine
Tinted sunscreen
If you prefer a liquid make-up, an SPF with colour in it is a good alternative. Heliocare Colour Gel Cream in SPF50, is an anti-ageing moisturiser and sun protection in one and more besides:
- Anti-ageing ingredients – the light-weight formulation contains green tea extract, vitamin E and anti-oxidants
- Protect and perfect – the built-in skin tone enhancer, it gives a healthy bronzed look and masks uneven areas of skin-tone and blemishes
- Spot the difference – Non-comedogenic, it won’t block pores and is oil free, so it’s great for acne and spot prone skin.
If you’re not sure which one will work for you, pop into the clinic and try them. I’ll be happy to help you get set for the summer months ahead.
