If you haven’t heard of tightlining prepare yourself for a makeup epiphany. For such a simple and subtle technique it can make a big difference to your look!

Your lashes will appear fuller and longer and your eyes will appear bigger, brighter and more awake.

There’s nothing complicated about it – tightlining is simply the application of eyeliner directly to your upper lash line from the underside of your lash line. It’s great for a smokey eye, but if you prefer a very natural look it will work for you too.

Tightlining before and after

Here’s what you do…

1. Using one hand lift up your top eyelid so the underside of your lash line is visible.

2. Apply eyeliner by either dotting or wiggling it into the lash line (this is where your eyelashes grow out of, versus the waterline, which is the thin wet area of skin directly below the lash line)

DONE!!! Yes it really is that easy to create a full lash effect without looking overdone.

Smokey Eye Tip:
If you are wearing black eyeliner on your lower waterline you may also apply to your top waterline. If you are leaving your lower waterline bare, or applying white eyeliner, you are best to avoid applying black eyeliner to your upper waterline as this may transfer onto your lower waterline.
