Orange is the new red!

Popular on the runway for spring/summer 2014, it may sound a scary colour but is a very flattering on all skin tones if you get the right shade.

You can go from the bright neon orange all the way down to the subtle more soft peach shades.

Paler skins should go for a true orange. A bright orange will make a statement, otherwise go for a softer orange with a more pinky undertone.

Medium skin tones or pale complexions wearing bronzer can go all out with a neon or bright orange. For a more subtle look then a peachy orange shade is best.

For darker skin tones rich, burnt orange shades or red/orange will suit you best.

These are just guidelines not rules, if there is a shade of orange that you like, test it first at a makeup counter and see how it looks in different lights before you buy.

TOP TIPS:

When applying bold shades, always apply with a lip brush for optimal precision.

Keep your bold shade looking modern by going for a cream or matte finish rather than a shimmer, frost or pearl finish.

For a really fresh look opt for bear eyes – curl your lashes with a great lash curler and apply lashings of clear mascara (and if you really can’t ditch mascara then go for a dark brown shade instead) finish off by grooming your brows with a tinted brow gel.
