Acne Scars are commonly atrophic scars (sometimes called ice pick and box scar) and are characterised by being indented or sunken in the skin.
Keloid Scars are scars where the excessive growth of the repaired tissue grows outside of the boundaries of the original wound and are raised, red and unsightly. The commonest areas for keloid scars are on the front of the chest and over the shoulders but they can occur anywhere. They are also more common in people with very dark skin.
Hypertrophic Scars are scars that form within the boundaries of the original injury, raised above the skin surface – but not in excess as in keloid scars.
Atrophic Scars are where the scar tissue is indented or sunken away from the level of the normal skin surrounding it.
A course of 3-6 treatments (depending on scar depth and complexity) results in smoother softer skin, improved clarity and more even skin tone.
Dermal filler injections add volume to those areas to immediately and safely restore a healthy, natural and youthful look that lasts. We use Belotero®, Ellanse® and Sculptra® which have FDA approval and an outstanding safety profile.
The appearance of scars can be greatly reduced by 6-8 laser treatments.
NeoGen uses plasma, a modern energy source that gives birth to new skin. This deep tissue treatment has been clinically proven to regenerate the skin and significantly improves facial scars.
Plexr® treatment uses plasma energy to vaporise pin-prick size areas of scar tissue causing it to shrink. It delivers its energy only on the superficial skin cells, without affecting deeper tissues and is very low risk and has minimal side effects.
The ResurFX™ fractional laser is a state-of-the-art, non-ablative, skin resurfacing technology. ResurFX™ fractional laser stimulates the production of new collagen and elastic fibers in the deeper layers of the skin.
